Häagen-Dazs ice cream in Japan already released spring flavours - Sakura and Rose.
Now they are back with something new and extra ordinary.
On May 12 two Spoon Vege ice creams will be released to the Japanese public.
トマトチェリー and キャロットオレンジ (“Tomato Cherry”, “Carrot Orange”).
They will come in 100ml cups and will cost 284 yen (approx US$2.80).
According to their homepage, The “Tomato Cherry” has a natural sweetness of tomato with the acidity and fruity cherry flavour, giving a rich taste of the tomato.
The “Carrot Orange” has a sweet and soft flavour of carrot, and adds a refreshing orange fragrance, giving a more sophisticated twist to the carrot flavour.
To be honest, can this be good? Veggie ice cream?!
To me it doesn't sound like a hit, and I wouldn't run to the store if I was in Japan!
But I'm not surprised this is released in Japan and not somewhere else in the world (^^;;)
