Corn hunting in Skåne

A highlight from last weekend was to go to the corn field.
We could enter and pick what we wanted and pay per each.
For one corn we payed 3 SEK (aprox 40 cents). It was so much fun hunting for the best ones.
This is something you cannot do in Stockholm! And it's great fun for both adults and kids!
I can truly recommend this is you are in South Sweden!

Korean food at home

Our friends loves food, who doesn't?
We too, so as we went to their house for the weekend, we cooked dinner one of the days. And we decided to cook Korean food. In the end we did 4 dishes but we were so full from the late kebab lunch I'd say we only ate 3 dishes. Anyway.. I only took a photo of these 3 we ate most of. And best of it, they were happy and pleased, the whole family. So it was so fun to make it for them.
We were also able to find ingredients more similar to the Korean ones and also we found great ingredients to a great price. We'd never find it to that price in Stockholm, that's for sure!!!

The menu
Japchae, Rabokki and Bulgogi :)

Tonight

It doesn't matter how many years has passed by since it was released, it's still an AWESOME song!!
I love it. One of my fave from the concert 2 days ago.

ENJOY

Coffee at Koppi

Last weekend we went to visit friends in South Sweden.
And on Saturday we went for a coffee at Koppi, a very famous cafe in Helsingborg, they are also famous around the world. As we entered it was packed with people still we were able to find seats.
The menu was small but still large enough to confuse. I ordered a cowboy latte and my hubby got a pour over coffee. We also got some cakes, all delicious.
The staff were super kind and helpful, we ended up buying 3 different coffees beans as my hubby loves to make his own and this place has good beans. We cannot wait to drink the different ones at home. A wonderful visit, we'd go back again when going down to Helsingborg.
I can truly recommend this place worth every penny.

There is coffee, then there is Koppi :)

What a Legend

Yesterday my hubby took me to see Mr. John Legend.
What a concert, what a voice!
Kinda surprised the area was not sold out, but I cannot recall I have seen any commercial so maybe that's why? Oh well.. more for me ^^
John is so talented and a great live performer. The concert was only 2 hours, a bit short but then again it started at 20.30. Nothing bad about the starter but instead of seeing him for 30 min and they rearranged the stage, I'd wanted to have 1 hour more of John!!!
John performed all of my fave songs, it felt like a dream to see him live, what a man!!!
I cannot wait until he comes back to Sweden!!

K-beauty at H&M

This will be in English since H&M is global. However I found these at H&M in Sweden so it could be different in other countries.
I went to H&M with a friend last Saturday, I walked around their make-up and beauty section and I found these masks - a mix of facial, hair, hand and foot masks.
I have never heard nor seen the brand before so it came as a surprise.
The masks are still a bit on the expensive side, compare to Asia but still cheaper than the other brands I have seen in Sweden.
All are from Korea and there is a mix of them and usage, very fun :) I cannot say anything good or bad as I have not tried them, AND they are from Korea plus they are sold through H&M so they cannot be bad.
If you have the chance... check them out ^^

Yes, this pink-purple version called Mara (마라) is 4x as spicy the original!!!

COSRX one step pimple clear pads

Betyg
★★★★★/★★★★★

Hur man använder

Ingredienser (engelska)
Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Betaine Salicylate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Allantoin, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate,Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil,Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil , Ethyl Hexanediol, Sodium Hydroxide.

DNA

I'm gonna be honest, nothing bad or anything but... just face it. I'm OLD.
I know the group name but I have no idea who the members are, I'd so just pass one by in Seoul. I cannot tell.
And their songs..some good, some bad. Like most groups. But I can recognize the name 방탄소년단 (BTS)..haha

This new one I like.
I'd listen to this at the gym.
What about you? Being a BTS fan, all will go YES. But just liking kpop?
Like it? Hate it? So-So?

Anyway...ENJOY

COSRX one step pimple clear pads

FYI - I heard they have now changed the name to "One Step Original Clear Pad".

In each box there are 70 pads and it's suitable for All Skin Types
This product has been raved about online. It says the product calms and soothes the skin while the active ingredients deeply penetrate the pores to flush out the unwanted gunk to clear and prevent further skin troubles. It's promoted to combat acne prone skin, but I'd also say it helps to eliminate blackheads while unclogging pores and dissolving deeply penetrated oils.
I don't know if I have shared but I do not have Acne prone skin, I get a few spots here and there.. a few times a year. However when using make up, travel etc I can see the skin looks sad. So I wanted to test these to see the benefit.
I do not use these on a daily basis but a few times a week. As I also use other skincare products I do not want to OVER use products on my skin.

After a few weeks of use I feel that my skin feels smoother and lighter. I will buy a lot more of these in Korea in December and I also look forward to try the ONE STEP MOISTURE UP PAD.
I recommend this product to anyone who wants a healthy and good looking skin. One pad is enough for the whole face, if you have a smaller face you can cut them in half!

Score
★★★★★/★★★★★

How to Use
1) After cleansing, gently wipe the face with one pad, avoiding the eye area.
2) When using for specific target areas such as the forhead, nose, or chin, be careful not to irritate other parts and try to lightly wipe at only the oily or troublesome area.
3) After use, make sure the lid is screwed on tightly so the solution doesn’t dry.
4) Do not wash off, and continue with your normal makeup routine ! (Up to 3 times use per day is recommended ; 1-2 times use per day is recommended for dry skin or for teenagers.)

Difference between the sides of the pad
Embossed side | Exfoliates / Regulates sebum production / Removes impurities
Smooth side | Hydrates / Promotes smoother skin / Improves facial skin texture

Ingredients
Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Betaine Salicylate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Allantoin, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate,Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil,Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil , Ethyl Hexanediol, Sodium Hydroxide.

Mer K-beauty i Sverige

Och denna kollektion hos Kiko kallas för #KikoMaskParade och på deras hemsida har de också skrivit att de tagit inspiration från Asien - "KIKO MILANO is taking inspiration from the hottest trend in Asian beauty right now, with a huge range of masks to suit all skin types. Effective, fast beauty treatments for instant results".

Getting pumped up

Just thinking we are going to Korea makes me excited. This time I also want to explore more places I never go to.
In Korea there are sooooooooooo many places and once you found your spots it's difficult to let go.
However this time I decided to try something new, and this place..I have heard a lot but never gone. I told my hubby we are to go to this place.
Hubby said... you know I used to live next to the market when I was a kid.
Me: does it mean it's bad or it will bring out childhood memories?
He said: Neither, you make the list of places to go, eat, shop and I will follow.

Take a look at this video by Youtuber Seongkyoung Longest.
Looks delicious no?
I so want to eat that noodle soup, I love Kalguksu!!!!!!!

A friend of mine gave me this, not sure if she bought it or got it for free.
Anyway it's a new brand to me, it's calle  IPKN. And the balm is called Twinkle Lips.
I have heard people on youtube referring the brand to I P K N. Which I also would have done until I saw the Korean spelling, Ip Kun. Ip means mouth/lips and Kun means Big. In other words "Big Lips".

On the back of the package it says: Enhance the natural beauty of your lips with this tinted balm. This balm reacts with the chemistry of your lips to make long lasting colour.
Not sure what that actually means but...

I got it in colour N4 Glow Jamong. The package is cute, I think it looks a bit more sophisticated and fit someone older. And when I say older, not a teenager.

First impression
It's soft and it has a bit of a grapefruit, then again...Jamong in Korean means grapefruit.
Honestly I cannot really tell, it's a lipbalm and tinted. still it doesn't give that much. I'd rather go with a stronger lip tint or a regular lip balm I think. I guess I have to use it more to see if I change my mind. It's not as "mindblowing"... that's for sure!

Ingredienser: en bit rostad sötpotatis, drygt 1 dl gröna linser, vatten, drygt 1 dl halloumiost, 1 dl edamamebönor (sojabönor), 1/3 av vardera rött råris, råris, lök och grönkål, 1 msk kokosmjölk, 1/4 dl röda linser, 1 skvätt av vardera apelsinjuice, citronjuice och kallpressad rapsolja, vitlök, havssalt, fänkål, gurkmeja, ingeäfra, kanel, kardemumma, koriander, svartpeppar, spiskummin, cayennepeppar, kryddpeppar.

I have to go though the latest of brushes I have used.
As I might have said in a several videos, I love Missha in general. And so I wanted to test the cheaper brushes. Yes, sometimes I get annoyed to pay so much for something so little.
I got most on sale..even better ^^

I got #302, #303, and #304.
The look etc, just like any other brush. I like the usage. BUT.. the straws falls off like there is no tomorrow. It's annoying to pick out 2-3 straws after each use.

Do you recommend them? - No
Will I buy them again? - No
Will I continue to use them - Yes, sometimes, as long as they are usable..

Dinner at Weidao (Stockholm, SE) - NEVER AGAIN

A friend of mine had heard good reviews of this place. I later saw an article in the news saying more or less "Just like in Asia". With high hopes we went. In the end I tried something different from what I usually eat. First a Tom Gai Soup. It was very "citrus and gingery". Not much flavour besides from what's already mentioned. a disappointment. I have not been in Thailand, I only tried this at a Thai restaurant in Singapore but that tasted very different. I cannot say which one is the real deal but I'd be surprised if this one at Weidao would be the real deal.

Then we ordered a side dish.. korean kkagduki, radish kimchi.
My fave korean side dish. Wow.. what a disappointment, the shape, the texture and it tasted like sugar not like any kkagduki I have eaten in Korea or in another country for that matter.
Honestly if I was served this in Korea,  I'd never eat at that place again!!! Kimchi in all it's shapes are holy in Korea!!!! They totally destroyed the dish!
Shame on you!

My main was tasty but not sure how Asian it was. I haven't been to China to eat it but it was a normal "Chinese dish". My friend ordered a Green curry it was so salty she could not eat it. As we approached the waiter we received a shifting eye and "what am I supposed to do". We had to tell her.. tell the kitchen to make a new one so it can be eaten! The second batch was less salty and  half could be eaten, still not worth the money. I bet they just poured a bit of water into the first batched and served it again.

This place with such praise.. well for Swedish measures and dining in itself.. OK.
But thinking of this is genuine Asian food.. NO

And I saw pics of their Ramen online, it had carrots as "condiment".
I have NEVER seen a Ramen in Japan served with carrots. Never heard of it either, I have only seen it served with carrots outside of Asia due to the fact they need to add something to the dish.
This place says they want to serve their guests food as if they were eating it in that specfic country - Authentic Asian food. This place is far from. This is just a restaurant serving Asian food made for Swedes / Westerners. Similar to Chinese food in NYC. All the take outs you see in the movies, you cannot find that in China.

The food itself is not bad, don't get me wrong, but to say it's to resemble something authentic when it's obviously not - that bothers me.

A United Kingdom

We rented a few movies the other week and we could keep them for 2 weeks. So now you know how I spend my weekends :)
Anyway one of the movies we rented was this one, a United Kingdom. I had read about it and wanted to see it in the movies but lack of time I sadly missed it.
I can recommend this movie, this really shows a part that I only knew little of. To think this happened not too long ago makes it scary to think of.
I really recommend to watch this movie, it's very touching and you learn more about a part of the African history.

★★★★

Plot
The film is based on the true story of the heir to the throne of Bechuanaland, Seretse Khama of the Bamangwato tribe, who studies law in London immediately after World War II. There he meets a White woman, Ruth Williams, whom he eventually marries, despite the protests of both their families and opposition from the British government, which is concerned about relations with South Africa and the stability of the entire region of Southern Africa.

Seretse discovers that the British have allowed a US mining corporation to prospect for precious stones, and is eager to make sure that, if anything is found, the exploitation of the country's resources should solely be done by the people of Bechuanaland...

Left overs becomes the main

Yesterday evening we went for a long walk, very nice :)
And on the way home we talked about dinner. I suddenly craved Korean spicy rice cakes (ddeokbokki) but we weren't sure if we had enough ingredients at home. I remember we had some opened packs of ddeok (rice cakes) both normal tube version and soup version. I also found some leek in the freezer and we also had a new pack of fish cake and we have a cupboard filled with noodles.
Yes, we made a complete dish of the left overs.

And you might know.. I'm the Ddeokbokki queen :)
I could eat this several times a week, but since it's mostly (85%) carbs I wouldn't recommend it ^^
Still whenever eaten, so so so so delicious!!!

How long has it been since we heard music by Yoona?
I like the song, but not sure how well it can be sung live?
Will have to wait and see :)

How many of you have tried these?
I have tried all but the curry one, I have it at home and waiting for a good time to eat it ^^

What can I say..
Let's go through them one by one.

1. The original
We all thought this was the max no?
This is the one that made the world go crazy and yes it's spicy.
I'd say eating by itself was boring, if you have some meat, chicken, veggis whatever, you can stirfry it making it taste better ^^
It goes well with cheese

2. Cheese version
The cheese powder made a difference and to me this was not spicy, it was like a regular Korean noodle but with "delicious" cheesy touch. Like a Korean version of Mac and cheese ^^

3. Curry version
Not tried yet... sounds scary we'll see

4. Cold version
The noodles were different, they were smaller, more similar to what is being used for "cold korean noodles". Spicy enough, an upgrade from Paldo's bibimmyeon I'd say. Still not a huge fan of this one.
Good for the summer but once - twice is enough. Move on to the next one.

5. Soup version
This one became spicy, I did not finish the soup and honestly by itself so-so.
I think it's better to use it to make a soup/stew. Not a favorite of mine.

6. X2 Spicy
OMG I just died... This was spicy and that's it.
To me no flavour jut the hotness of it. Fun challenge but eat on a regular basis..no.
My Indian colleague said this one was right for him, then again he eats all kinds of chili fruits as snacks. Try it with friends for fun.. I mean you all will be sweating and trying to do your best. ^^

Saving money

As my wedding prep is over.. I got married ;) My next project is to save money and create a beautiful home! So basically I went from one expensive project to another..haha
Oh well, the house should be a long lasting one and therefore it needs to be carefully created.
Just like the wedding, only one shot!

We will of course bring a lot of stuff we have in our current house. But somethings we cannot there are just things that won't fit.
I was so angry the other day when we realized the sofa we have only comes in the size we have.
I wanted a second one slightly smaller, but nope... not available.
Which leaves us to buy a new. And with a larger sofa we'd need a new sofa table. You see, it piles up already!

Another item we want to buy new is a larger bed! A bed can come cheap but then there is also the more expensive. And buying a bed isn't like buying a top. You cannot bargain either because.. who knows the real truth, a bed that cost 1000 USD can be as good as 2000 USD..no?
And is a 10 000 USD bed really worth the price? a jungle I don't want to enter, just need to swipe my card.

Did I tell you, I have a fear of credit cards?
I have NEVER bought anything using a credit card / pay in installments. The fear of the extra rates or suddenly be without money and still have a bill to pay. No Thank You.
Has it ever happened to me? No.
Do I own a credit card? No.
I keep it simple, I save and yes, I'm good at it! I have never been in a situation I cannot afford what I want. I'd rather say it has been about if I feel it's "worth it?" / "Do I really need it?"
And after I have saved and finally buying the thing I have saved for, I feel happier :) It was worth the wait...

Every penny counts!

Broken

I donno if I have told you. During the first days I couldn't do anything I was totally broken and devastated. I was like.. I will not be able to leave my house for a year.
I still wish I'd wake up and it all was a dream, sadly not. It's real as can be. You'd never expect this to happen, this is what you see in a movie or give as a worst case scenario example but thinking you go to a professional it should never happen. This is also why you pay for a professional.
Then it all went so so so so wrong!

The other week I went back to re-colour my hair, to get the black parts blonde. I mean the hairdresser did an awesome job the first time. I was so excited. But well... that didn't last!
The hairdresser BURNT off my hair and not a little.. A LOT.
Luckily I have lots of hair I have been able to hide it, still I do not look like myself and I can feel I lost a lot!
I should be happy it didn't happen prior the wedding or I would have ripped something apart! It took me 6 months to find, what I thought a good hairdresser. I was wrong.
There is not a good hairdresser to dye Asian hair in Sweden. If you know one let me know. I thought I found the best one! I was so wrong, I won't colour my hair in Sweden ever again. I will travel to Asia for that! So disappointed. In the end I was told the hairdresser had put the bleach too close to my roots and this is the reason, I still think it's bullshit. I mean I have Asian hair.. it's thick.
Also why only a part and not all? Should be happy I'm not bald right?
In the US you could sue, but not in Sweden..haha
Life goes on and not a single one seems to have notices, THANK the LORD.
And also I think I have a done a great job to cover it up.

In the meantime as this obviously was not good for my head or hair, the hairdresser sent me goods worth quite a lot. I have tried some of it..
I like Olaplex, only tried it once but I can see the difference when I brush my hair, not as much comes out. So for that I'm happy.
I also got shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, gel and treatment.
Still instead of this I wish for a perfect blond colour.
All things you could never imagine in you wildest dream could happen when going to a professional... yes that happened!

Soc - Court Jacket

I also bought a new jacket, to wear when I leave the gym.
I love colours and this jacket looked very fun ^^
This was also on the cheaper side so I'm pleased.
It can of course be used for other occasions too but main purpose is from/to the gym ^^

Cute isn't it?

ROSÉ SQUAD TIGHTS

This is a first for me, I have never bought anything from Aim'n before. I found these different from what I have seen on the market and I love the colour.
They will of course get super dirty as my personal trainer loves me sweeping the floors ^^
What I liked about these were the feeling, skintight but yet so comfortable. Most I have tried turns out loose on me, I have very small ankles so it's not easy to find ones that are also fit at the bottom.
And compare to the ones I have I hope they keep the elasticity longer.
