South travel

It's time to hit south of South Korea to visit family of my darling,

I'm a bit scared but it's also gonna be fun to see new places in S.Korea..

We are heading towards the country side.. bye bye!

I need to start packing today, not so much but still. I hate to pack, I always over pack..lol

We are leaving tomorrow morning, what's good is that I can always buy things there, it's not like we are going to a deserted island. Anyway, it will be hard to do lol

Sky's on fire

Still recovering

This is what I looked like a month ago, now I look like this.

A tiny scar but it still hurts, a little. I guess my hand is recovering!

I'm so happy I got the surgery, the pain was unbearable. And after being without my right hand for a month, I can use it again! So happy !!

Still weeks left of recovery but it cannot be compared!!

Proper Indian Food

Who doesn't love Indian food?

What to eat in Seoul (Part 3 - Gwanghwamun, Jongno, Insadong)

In this area a lot of my fave places have actually disappeared. This is the bad part about Seoul.
You see something and think, I will go there next time. You come back and it's gone!
But there are a few places left that I'd strongly recommend, as for the other places in this area, take a look for yourself and choose!
I used to have this Bibimbap restaurant. I know it's a famous dish all around the world and there are many places. But THIS one was so awesome!! I have to search and see if they moved because this place was so good. I also had a chicken place but it also disappeared!
Anyway, here's a few...

Gwanghwamun, Jongno and Insadong areas

1. 미진 (Mijin)

Address: 24 Jongno 1(il)-ga, Jongno-gu

I got introduced by a friend of mine, and this is such a simple dish and this restaurant is so good. I have introduced several friends, all loved it. Their main dish is memil/soba (buckwheat noodles). I prefer them cold at this place. Not much to say, just delicious and simple!
It's close to my fave bookstore - Kyobo, as well.. so I went here a lot ^^

Take Line 5 to Gwanghwamun, take exit 4, pass by Kyobo, look for T-world, it's next too it.

Or Take Line 1 to Jongak exit 1 keep straight, it's on your right.

2. 서울 파이낸스센터 (SFC mall)

Address: 84,Taepyeongno 1(il)-ga,Jung-gu

This place is called Seoul Finance Center, aka SFC mall, I found it by chance many years ago.
Go to basement floor, you will find lots of places to eat!

After my first time, me and a few friends came back several times, there are so many places to eat and the prices varies. they also have lunch specials. we have tried Japanese curry, sushi, naengmyeon, bbq and so on. Also, Coffee bean Tea Leaf, it's really quiet here during office hours, so if you are able to have a "late" lunch, go for it.

Take Line 1 to City Hall and take exit 4, walk straight, turn second right.

or Take Line 5 to Gwanghwamun walk straight, turn left on the first after the stream.

3.  광장시장 (Gwangjang Market)

Address: 88 Changgyeonggung-ro,Jongno-gu

This market has a big variation. I bought a hanbok here, custom made. It was a few years ago, but it was cheap and great service. If you are looking for a hanbok. Go here!!
Anyway back to the foods, you can find lots of different foods, my fave is mung bean pancakes.
There are several places. It's cheap and you can jump from place to place! It's kinda noisy but that's a part of the whole experience.

Take Line 1 to Jongno 5-ga and take Exit 8.

You can also walk around in Jogno starting from Jonggak station (Line 1) and keep walking down the main road. There are lots of shows along this main street.

4. 수요일 전통찻집(Suyoil JeontongChajib)

Address: 23 Gwanhun-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul

I found this place by chance many years ago, and it is still there. In this area you can find many traditional restaurants and cafes.All are not good, but this one is a must visit. It has a great location on the main road in Insadong. The name is Suyoil Jeontong Cha Jib which means Wednesday Trad. Tea House.

Take Line 1 to Jongak station, Line 1, 3 or 5 to Jongno 3-ga station, or Line 3 to Anguk Station.

Yes there are many ways to get there. it's slightly longer from Jonggak but it's simple, just along the arcade and exit at the end left, walk straight until you come to Insadong and turn left and follow the road. If you get off at Jongno 3-ga use exit 4 or 6. And Anguk Station take Exit 6.

As for other places around Insadong, I don't remember the names of any place at the moment, I know exactly where they are located but I don't remember the names.

Anyway I'm heading to Korea next week, will take a look again and come back to the Insadong area!

Here's another OST I like from the drama Descendants of the Sun.
This song is by K.Will and it's called Talk Love. Korean title is 말해! 뭐해?, which literary means Tell me, What are you up to?.

It has been a perfect song to way up to these past days ^^

Let's break it up.
말해 means "to talk".
말 means "talk/say"
해 comes from 하다 and means "to do"

It can also means, tell me or say something. it all depends on HOW you say it.

But since they put a ! after I say tell me.

뭐해 means what are you doing.
해 comes from 하다 and means "to do"
뭐 means what.

태양의 후예

I finally decided to watch this drama, and it has become quite addictive. I'm already up to date as I had a marathon the other day. I only have the remaining 3 SPs.
The ending was pretty bad, sorry but what kind of crap was that?? So much excitement until the end then that!? Well well..will see what happens.
For some reasons, I'm a bit disappointed with Song Hye Kyo's acting, I used to like her a lot but there have been way too many scenes where I'd call her acting extremely poor.
Song Joong Gi's English is almost incomprehensible, I'm sorry but I have to read the Korean subs to understand it. Also there were a few times when it got messed up, A speaking English and B Korean, at first they did not understand each other suddenly they had a conversation completely matching each other.

As for the 3 SP episodes left I think I won't be able to see the extras until I return from Asia.

Plot
Yoo Si-jin (Song Joong-ki) is the captain of the special forces. He catches a motorcycle thief with Sergeant Major Seo Dae-young (Jin Goo). The thief is injured during his capture and is sent to the hospital. Dae-young realizes his cellphone was stolen by the thief and goes to the hospital to retrieve his cellphone.

In the emergency room, Si-jin meets Dr. Kang Mo-yeon (Song Hye-kyo) for the first time. He falls in love with her immediately. Mo-yeon mistakenly assumes Si-jin is part of thief's criminal gang. He proves to her that he is a soldier with the help of army doctor Yoon Myeong-joo (Kim Ji-won).

Si-jin and Mo-yeon begin to date, but due to their jobs, their dates don't go well. Si-jin takes an order to lead his soldiers on a peacekeeping mission to the fictional country of Uruk. Meanwhile, Mo-yeon becomes upset that she fails to become a professor due to a colleague's privileged background. When Si-jin and Mo-yeon meet again, they talk about their views on life and realise how different they are. Si-jin, as a soldier, kills to protect lives and Mo-yeon, as a doctor, tries to save all lives. They say their goodbyes.

Eight months later, Mo-yeon rebuffs the sexual advances of hospital chairman Han Suk-won (Tae In-ho) and as a result is assigned to lead a medical team in Uruk. There, Si-jin and Mo-yeon meet again and fall in love again.

I think I saw 5 episodes in one day a few days ago during my sick leave. Anyway I'm finally back at work, which is an another story.

A new friend

I found this in the store the other day, A great buy!
I like the soy flavour.

My darling tried to be fun about it, as this kind of soymilk and regular soy sauce is pronounced different in Korean, but looking at this is looked more like it referred to soy sauce.

He was like, who wants to drink that? I looked at him, no one but I bet people want to drink a soy milk cappuccino ^^

I give this a 4/5
