Dinner at Weidao (Stockholm, SE) - NEVER AGAIN

A friend of mine had heard good reviews of this place. I later saw an article in the news saying more or less "Just like in Asia". With high hopes we went. In the end I tried something different from what I usually eat. First a Tom Gai Soup. It was very "citrus and gingery". Not much flavour besides from what's already mentioned. a disappointment. I have not been in Thailand, I only tried this at a Thai restaurant in Singapore but that tasted very different. I cannot say which one is the real deal but I'd be surprised if this one at Weidao would be the real deal.

Then we ordered a side dish.. korean kkagduki, radish kimchi.
My fave korean side dish. Wow.. what a disappointment, the shape, the texture and it tasted like sugar not like any kkagduki I have eaten in Korea or in another country for that matter.
Honestly if I was served this in Korea,  I'd never eat at that place again!!! Kimchi in all it's shapes are holy in Korea!!!! They totally destroyed the dish!
Shame on you!

My main was tasty but not sure how Asian it was. I haven't been to China to eat it but it was a normal "Chinese dish". My friend ordered a Green curry it was so salty she could not eat it. As we approached the waiter we received a shifting eye and "what am I supposed to do". We had to tell her.. tell the kitchen to make a new one so it can be eaten! The second batch was less salty and  half could be eaten, still not worth the money. I bet they just poured a bit of water into the first batched and served it again.

This place with such praise.. well for Swedish measures and dining in itself.. OK.
But thinking of this is genuine Asian food.. NO

And I saw pics of their Ramen online, it had carrots as "condiment".
I have NEVER seen a Ramen in Japan served with carrots. Never heard of it either, I have only seen it served with carrots outside of Asia due to the fact they need to add something to the dish.
This place says they want to serve their guests food as if they were eating it in that specfic country - Authentic Asian food. This place is far from. This is just a restaurant serving Asian food made for Swedes / Westerners. Similar to Chinese food in NYC. All the take outs you see in the movies, you cannot find that in China.

The food itself is not bad, don't get me wrong, but to say it's to resemble something authentic when it's obviously not - that bothers me.
