Sushi Dinner

For dinner last Sunday we had sushi. I had missed lunch totally and I was too tired to care and super hungry so I suggested this sushi place! It was really delicious.
It looked suspicious, no customer and very small. But you should not judge by the looks.
I was very happy with my choice!!!
As it's almost around the corner, I will most likely visit the place again!

After a small trip to buy some china we decided to have sushi for dinner.
Thanks to one of the apps I have we got this super cheap.
This sushi is really delicious ^^ I will go back and use up all of the coupons. One customer get 4 coupons. Two big sushi for 119 sek.

A great dinner choice!!

Take out Sushi @ きまま

I'm so slow or just behind.
This is from last weekend, me and my bf had sushi for dinner.
We went to one of my fave sushi places in Stockholm. Or at least used to be. Now it was so-so. Not bad but I wouldn't travel far (like before) to eat there.
But still.. it's WAAAAY better than most sushi places in Sweden!!

The place is located at Odenplan area in central Stockholm.
And it's called Kimama sushi (きまま).
Hungry as a troll I went for their Medium sized one.

Fave pieces at 回し寿司活

Yesterday I talked about sushi at Katsumidori.
Today I'm showing some of my fave kinds of sushi not all there are so many more ^^
There's a HUGE difference between sushi in Japan and sushi elsewhere, the level is so big it's not comparable!

Scallop - look the the size, it's HUGE! Really one of my fave kinds of sushi!
(compare to the baby ones they serve in Sweden)

Tuna - a classic!! Look the the red colour!! A must eat for me, so delicious

Crab - in Sweden we have a similar, with a shitty crabstick on top. This is what a crab sushi should look like!!

Salmon - Another classic. And also here, the size and amount of the salmon!! Amazing and so unbelievably delicious.

California Roll - Believe it or not but they are also serving it here, not so common but I have found it at more and more sushi places in Japan. ^^

Shrimp - First time my dad spotted this he thought his eyes were going to fall out. And when he took a bite he said it was the best ever!! I agree with him!!!

Egg - In most countries outside Japan this one is served as mini one on top of rice. However in Japan this is huge and eaten like it is. It's one of my fave snacks, not only as sushi but just as it is!!! It's also a tradition for me to eat it at this place.

And...

Norwegian roll - I tried it for the first time last May and I liked it. quite similar to a California in a way, totally different in another! I loved the salmon on top!

Miso soup - It's not a Japanese meal without miso soup right? I actually got this for S, as she is not a big fan of raw fish. Anyway I got her the deluxe version, Miso soup with mini crab!! ^^ The crab flavoured the soup in a new exciting and so delicious way!!

Sushi @ 回し寿司活 (Katsumidori)

Katsumidori is probably my fave sushi chain in Japan.
And my fave place to visit is their branch at Meguro station.
This place is a kaiten (conveyor belt) sushi place. It's always super crowded but the waiting time isn't too long and it's so worth it ^^ If you are a group of 3 and more they also have tables, but most people are seated at the counter.

All the items are marked and you can easily see the price of each dish. the cheapest starts at 100 yen. And all plates have different colours so it's easy to recognize the price.

Everything goes round and round and the chefs puts on new things all the time.
If you are missing your favourite piece you can take out the folder and a small slip, fill in what you want and give it to the chef. He will the prepare it for you.

Not only is everything super fresh it's also very convenient in many ways.
You can easily pick what you want, they have menu's in both Japanese and English, however most of the staff only knows Japanese, but for most of you who are visiting Japan, you will understand that gestures is another way of communication ^^

A lunch usually comes out at 1000 yen +, I say plus because well.. Appetite differs and if I speak for myself, I usually maximize my stomach when going there ^^
Tomorrow I will share more photos, mainly photos of my fave sushi pieces!!

2 Days to go

It's only 2 days now!!
One thing I really looking forward to is to eat sushi, S has promised me she'd try it.
She's not a fan of "raw" fish, but I will try to get her to like it.
I'm gonna take her to my fave kaiten sushi in Meguro!

Family Sushi Dinner

After my trip on the boat I wasn't so hungry, until I came home.
My parents were so kind and we ended up having a sushi dinner, a total delight!!
There's a sushi place quite close to our house, I have to say, they make it very well!!!! Swedish sushi can be really so-so and from a local small place you never know. However I'm really satisfied with this place!! It was so delicious!!!!
I want to eat it soon again (^^;;)

11 Days to go!

One of many things that's a must and also is better than anywhere else in the world is sushi in Japan!!
I have visited many various places and there's a big difference even in Japan.
Still even the "bad" places is better than the ones we get in other parts of the world!
I think the best sushi I have had was in Sapporo.
But this time I'll settle for Tokyo and Osaka.

The pictures below are from a restaurant close to Meguro station in Tokyo.
I'd say this is a 5 min walk from my hotel!! ^^
I cannot wait to eat here!!! The sizes of the fish.. OMG!! So big and delicious :P

11 Days to go!!

Last week's Friday family sushi

We had a Friday cozy dinner with delicious sushi!
This is from our local place, and I have to give them cred for the deliciouness.
If you'd pass this place you'd never think something good would come from it.
The reasons is because it's located in the middle of nowhere, the staff speak 5% Swedish and 7% English so there are times I'm afraid they do not understand my order (I have had to show them on the menu they have on the wall a few times), and inside it's looks kinda well.. like nothing. So it's not really inviting.. But it sure tastes good! And after my trips to Japan I have become being picky about my sushi.

Anyway we were happy with our meal ^^
I want to eat it again ^^
