Magnum Vanilla & Chocolate

Who hasn't heard of Magnum ice-cream!?
And who hasn't eaten it? ^^

I discovered this in the store a few weeks back and finally bought one, I bought the
Magnum Vanilla & Chocolate, my reason!? The other 2 flavours wasn't as appealing.
Double chocolate sounded good but I thought it could be too much, second, I'm allergic to Hazelnuts.

This one was really nice, I liked the mix of choco and vanilla! Sometimes it can be really wrong but in this one, it was ALL right ^^
I really recommend this one, can I add.. my mum almost emptied the whole jar herself..hahaha ^^

弱くても勝てます

Third drama of this season that I'm interested in is Nino's drama, although the story to me sounds so-so, I want to watch it as Nino is in it ^^
He's a great actor so I think it will be interesting! Also with this drama there'll be a new Arashi song!!
I really hope they do one for Riida's drama too, but I wonder if it will happen.
Oh well... Countdown begins!!

Title: 弱くても勝てます (Yowakutemo Katemasu)
Tagline: 青志先生とへっぽこ高校球児の野望 (Aoshi-sensei to Heppoko Koukou Kyuuji no Yabou)
Episodes: TBA
Broadcast network: NTV
Broadcast period: 2014-Apr-12 - 2014-XX-XX
Air time: Saturday 21:00
Theme song: Guts - Arashi

Story
Tamo Aoshi (Ninomiya Kazunari) is a substitute teacher at his alma mater, a prestigious private high school which admits 200 students to Tokyo University every year. He becomes the coach of the weak baseball club which has only five members and has never won a game since it was established. The highest number of times they have thrown the ball back and forth without dropping it is nine. They prefer the outfield because the infield is scary. Furthermore, they practice on the grounds only three hours a week. At other times, they study, study and study. But they love baseball. Finding them interesting and strange creatures, Aoshi decides that he will give his charges victory, guided by his offbeat theory “triumph is possible even if weak”. And then they seriously set their sights on the annual nationwide high school baseball championship with their brand of preposterous baseball.

Don't hold back on love

This was on tv yesterday morning.
It's also only 30 days left until I'm heading to Greece!! ^^
Helena is Greek so what more is fitting!? Although this song is in English.

Enjoy!!

New breakfast cheese

My new trend is to have my breakfast at work, where it's peaceful and quiet ^^
Or maybe not quiet but I have the time to eat it.
Yesterday I went to the supermarket to buy myself a cheese and I came across this one - Wästgöta kloster Munkens Blå, I think the commercial got to me.
I'm not sure why I chose this one but by reading on the package it sounded good ^^
It's very smooth and creamy with a rich flavour.

I'm happy with my choice, now I will enjoy my breakfast even more ^^

One life

Helena's English album is finally here, or well it was released a few days but I haven't been able to listen until now.
And well, it's not bad, but in the end, I prefer her Greek album. ALTHOUGH I only speak a few words of Greek I still like it better. Weird right!? (^^;;)
"Set Your Heart On Me", "One Life", "Crazy For Love", and "Chainsaw" were my fave songs on her Greek album, and for some reason I think both sounds much better in Greek. The Greek versions I can listen to over and over, while the English one is like "once-twice was far enough".
But well, what was nice with this album is that I didn't have to look up the lyrics and find a English translation ^^
I really like the song featuring Jill Johnson, it was a great surprise! I hope they'll work again in the future.

Verrückt Schlitterbahn

Take a ride of your life!?
Would you dare to sit in this slide? It's said 4 people can fit in it and you also wear a seat belt (I do wonder if that's enough...?!)

This can be found in Kansas City's Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resorts, It's called Verrückt,
And is set to be the World's tallest waterslide ride.

So... would you dare to try it!? (^^;;)

RUT & CIRCLE

It was my mum who wanted to go shopping, but in the end I shopped too..
I bought two pieces at RUT & CIRCLE.
I really like their designs, however we only have one store in Stockholm and it's not close by so we don't go there too often, however we did yesterday!

I really like this two tops that I bought. I like the zippers on the back of the first one.
And I also like the white colour on the other one. I'm usually not a fan of white but this one is really fits upcoming spring!! ^^

Stand up comedy and dinner

Last night we went out with work, we went to a stand-up comedy restaurant.
I have heard about it a lot as it's famous here in Stockholm, but I had never been there before.
Before the show we had dinner.
I wouldn't say WOW, but it was good enough ^^

Skagen mix "Toast"

Mixed game meat meatball with mash, peas and lingonberries

Cola baked chicken

Here's a very weird dish I remember from Season 4 of MasterChef Australia.
I found it as I looked up the other recipe that I posted yesterday.
Sometimes I actually think Matt Preston's food is more amazing than George and Gary's just because it's simple and easy!
I'd never create something like this, I mean.. Coca-cola as main ingredient!?
But since it made the show, I should try it out ^^
I guess the sweetness of the coke will make a nice taste!!
I'll try to make this in the near future!!

Ingredients
750ml cola
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 cloves garlic, grated
1 large brown onion, grated
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1kg chicken wings, cut at the joints
Juice of one lemon

How to cook
1. Preheat oven to 140°C fan forced.

2. Combine cola, sugar, garlic, onion and soy in a bowl.

3. Arrange chicken wings in a single layer in a deep oven tray and pour over cola mixture.

4. Bake for 3-3.5 hours or until sauce is thick and very sticky.

As Swedish you can be..?

An acquaintance posted this on FB a few days ago and it made me laugh.
I wonder if this is for real.
It said it's Gevalia's commercial for their coffee in the US.
Can I ask... Can it be any more Swedish?
To me, in one commercial, this is as Swedish you can be ^^

TSUKI

I came across this song because of the movie 抱きしめたい (Dakeshimitai) starring Kitagawa Keiko and Nishikido Ryo.
But I also have to blame Midori-chan and Yuuka-chan, both are Amuro Namie fans so they have influenced me ^^
My fave song on this single is of course TSUKI, and I really want to see the movie.
It looks like a really beautiful movie, although it kinda has a sad ending. But what's amazing is that's it's based on a true story.
Neonlight lipstick, to me sounds like a more typical Namie song!? Can I even say that being a new follower!? ^^ Anyway to me, I'd recognize it's Namie and no other Jpop singer..haha

One more Samsonite bag!!

I bought one myself a few weeks ago, and by doing so my mum wanted one too. However in a smaller size.
She wanted a "long weekend bag", as we are soon heading south to Greece and Athens.
So guess what happened, my parents decided to buy one together! I asked why not two since they are at it.
But my dad said if he's travelling he wants to travel far.. hahaha
Also, they got it in the Marine blue colour. Reason!? Well..at this other store in downtown Stockholm they had it at 20% off ^^

Beef pot roast

I'm a huge MasterChef Australia fan, and while watching the show last week I found this dish that I'm curious to try out.
It's made by Chef and MCA Judge Gary Mehigan.
Just when I heard what he was gonna cook I took out a pen and paper..haha
Although it looks simple when he does it, I do wonder ^^
Anyway this dish I'll try to cook next weekend.
I'll skip the carrots but try to get the rest! ^^

Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 2 hours 30 minutes

Ingredients
1 onion, roughly chopped
3 garlic cloves, bruised
2 bay leaves
750ml (3 cups) red wine
300ml port
1kg piece beef brisket
70ml olive oil
1kg beef neck bones, chopped into small pieces
500ml (2 cups) good quality veal stock
Salt and pepper, to taste

Vegetables:
50ml olive oil
2 large carrots, peeled, cut into large pieces
200g smoked kaiserfleisch or belly bacon, cut into thick lardons
1 large celeriac, peeled, cut into wedges
3 thyme sprigs, leaves picked
2 bay leaves
2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
50g butter
Parsley leaves, to garnish
Salt and pepper, to taste

How to cook
1 Place onion, garlic, bay leaves, red wine, and port in a large saucepan, bring to the boil over high heat, then remove from heat and set aside to cool completely. Once cool, place beef into a large bowl, the pour in marinade to cover. Refrigerate overnight or up to 24 hours to marinate.

2 Preheat oven to 250C.

3 Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook bones for about 10 minutes until caramelised, turning occasionally. Season with salt.

4 Meanwhile, drain beef brisket from marinade and pat dry well with paper towel, reserving vegetables and liquor.

5 Heat remaining 50ml oil in a large, heavy-based saucepan set over high heat. Sear brisket on all sides until caramelised. Add reserved vegetables from the marinade, and remove brisket. Set aside. Add bones to dish, followed by the marinade. Bring to the boil and reduce by half. Return brisket to pan with stock, and bring to the boil. Cover with a lid, then place in oven. Immediately reduce temperature to 160C. Cook for 1.5-2 hours, depending on thickness of beef, until tender. Season carefully as flavour will develop throughout the cooking process.

6 Meanwhile, for the vegetables, heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add carrots, kaiserfleisch and celeriac and lightly season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to medium, and cook for about 6-8 minutes until golden and caramelised, stirring often. Add thyme and bay leaves and cook for a further 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low, then add garlic and butter. Continue cook for a further 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender, basting occasionally.

7 Remove pan from oven. Carefully remove brisket and bones from pan. Strain sauce through a fine sieve lined with a muslin or chux cloth into a clean pan, and gently warm through.

8 To serve, carve beef lengthwise, across the grain into thick slices and arrange in a serving platter with vegetables.
Garnish with parsley leaves and serve with jus.

Last week's Friday family sushi

We had a Friday cozy dinner with delicious sushi!
This is from our local place, and I have to give them cred for the deliciouness.
If you'd pass this place you'd never think something good would come from it.
The reasons is because it's located in the middle of nowhere, the staff speak 5% Swedish and 7% English so there are times I'm afraid they do not understand my order (I have had to show them on the menu they have on the wall a few times), and inside it's looks kinda well.. like nothing. So it's not really inviting.. But it sure tastes good! And after my trips to Japan I have become being picky about my sushi.

Anyway we were happy with our meal ^^
I want to eat it again ^^

Yes we are / ココカラ

SMAP is back with one single but two tracks, so you could say "two singles". "Yes We Are" is a mid-tempo pop song that is a theme song of a daily news program, and Kokokara is more up-tempo and is the theme song for the special renewal project in Tokyo's Nihonbashi district.
The single will be released on April 4, but I already got previews ^^
Both songs to me is very "SMAPish", I'm not thrilled but well.. I guess they are okay :P

Hungry Eyes

Who has missed out on this tune?
This is No No No and Hungry Eyes.
In Sweden it's played wherever and whenever ^^
Of course that's not so weird..!?

Before this song I don't think I had noticed this band at all, but it's ALWAYS nice to learn something new.
And yes, Swedish music is awesome!!

Enjoy!!

Amuro Namie's TSUKI

I have been listening to this clip non-stop since it came ^^
The single was released almost 2 months ago, but I'll take a full listen tonight.
However here's a preview for all of you who hasn't heard this song, or know anything about Jpop singer Amuro Namie!

Enjoy! ^^

ボーダー

This is another drama I'm keen to watch. Of course it's because of Oguri Shun.
But then again, since my schedule is kinda tight I'm not sure if I can follow it along "live" broadcast but I'll do my best ^^
Also the role seems to fit Gurin kinda well so I think it will be a very exciting drama!

死神くん

There's something about Riida and his non-human roles ^^
He acts so well and for some reason these kinds of roles suits him very well.
Although all roles he has had, human or non-human, so far has been great!
I look forward to see this drama. It's still a few weeks left but the hype has already begun! Also this should mean that Arashi will release a new single!! *woop woop*

He would appear with the signature phrase “Congratulations! I’m here to call on you” although it is hard to say how this can be a happy occasion, and watch over the dying. To a grim reaper, persuading people attempting to commit suicide and preventing unforeseen deaths is also an important task. But because #413 is new to this grim reaper work, he has a tendency to lean towards humans in his judgments, break the rules of the nether world and get reprimanded by his superior.

Pappa

I discovered this guy in Melodifestivalen, and then my co-worker told me about this song.
So of course I had to check it out.
I think this is a really beautiful song! It's called "Pappa" which means "Dad" in Swedish.

It's a song to his dad who has passed away.

Dream away

I heard this on TV a few weeks ago and it got stuck.
This song is made to spread hope to people in need, and all revenue from this release goes to SOS Children's Villages.
I grew up with Eagle Eye Cherry so it's nice to hear new music from him.
This song also features Darin.

Samsonite's Spinner Expandable

I bought this suitcase the day before yesterday.
To be honest I didn't plan it, but the store had double points and membership day so it was a good trick to get me to purchase it!!
I bought a black one, kinda boring, also since I had seen a Marine/Dark Blue one at another store.
However this store only had it in Black or Red.
Red sounds nice, but it was an ugly red colour!!

I do own one, but this weight almost 2 kgs less, which is what I want!
It can also fit a lot so I'm very pleased, although I haven't scheduled a trip where I will need it in the very near future.
Then again I love to travel so it's not a waste!! It's more a reminder of what I should do in the near future..hahaha

오늘 뭐해 (Whatcha Doin' Today)

Okay, So I usually share music I like.
But today I will share a song which is fairly okay, but the video is horrible.
To show young women like this is awful!
I have no idea who came up with this concept but he/she should take a walk of shame!

I think 4Minute deserves more than be shown like this!!!
I mean the outfits, their faces, all... I just want to throw up! It looks cheap, tacky and so unappealing.
NO, this is not cute or sexy, it's just sad.. VERY VERY sad!! Pathetic even.
I do hope Korean netizens will complain about this or that it will become 19 rated!

What's your reaction?!

Baked potato

I love baked potato, or potatoes in general for that matter.
But I rarely eat baked ones these days. it's basically something I eat outside.
Last Sunday I had this for late lunch. By looking at the size, of course impossible to finish but delicious! ^^

This is such a simple dish if you think about it.
And underrated!!

Baked potato with Skagen mixture and salad

Rather be

Who has missed this song?
Clean Bandit's Rather Be
They are playing it a lot on the radio in Sweden, and probably in other parts of the world.
By watching the music video makes me longing for Japan.

Bubble tea - think again

I found this...made me laugh!
Funny marketing for Bubble tea, wonder if I will be able to enjoy it like before?!

Θέλω τόσο να σε δω

More of Greece (Cyprus to be correct but well..) and this time music by Evridiki and Dimitris Korgialas.
For you who do not know them... they are actually married ^^
Also some of you may recognize Evridiki from Eurovision Song Contest, she has represented Cyprus 3 times.
This song is called Θέλω τόσο να σε δω (Thelw toso na se dw)

焼きキットカット

There's a brand new Kit Kat taste sensation? Exclusive in Japan.
What's special? Well... have you every tried to toast a Kit Kat?!
Now the Japanese people can!!

Chef Takagi has come up with caramel custard-taste Kit Kat that is toastable!!!

)

How to Cook/Bake them

Put the Kit Kat in the fridge (they taste pretty good when cold and solid too)
Put them in the oven (or toaster) and set the thermostat to "toastable" level.
Be sure not taking your eyes off during the whole cooking.
Let them toast for 2 min.
OR
Take the Kit kat's out once they start to glaze.
Let them chill then enjoy ^^

Vietnamese food

More food ^^
As Elisabeth came to visit we went out for dinner. On Saturday night we had Vietnamese food.
The restaurant is not that famous but a co-worker said it was good so I thought..hmm...let's try it.

We shared two starters and a main. We also had dessert.
I'm happy with the food. I did not get a wow factor like I thought I would but it was nice ^^

I shall visit again! ^^

Vietnamese spring rolls + fried pasta filled dumplings with shrimp

Tofu and veggie curry and coconut milk

Coconut icecream with chocolate sauce

없어

As I browsed around Youtube the other day, I came across this song with Younha feat Eluphant called "Nothing" in English.
Although I have heard it before, it has been a forgotten tune.

I actually prefer the solo version...

Which version do you prefer?
With or without Eluphant?

if only...

I wish Mondays would be like this ^^

Things said to or about my adopted daughters

I was kinda surprised and yet not.
Sounds weird right!? But it seems no matter where you go people have the same prejudice now as way back when I was younger.
I grew up in Sweden and I have heard these words too.
Today, I just want to laugh at it because of peoples' ignorance. But back then when I was a child it wasn't always easy.
I also think it's not only me, I think parents too, although mine have never said anything, but probably heard something similar too.

Kim Kelley Wagner uploaded a bunch of photos in an album called "Things said to or about my adopted daughters" onto Facebook and since then the word of mouth has spread.
Although I'm not sure if it will have any effect, I still want to share this to show what both GROWN-ups and Children says out loud without thinking.

It's 2014 now, maybe it's time to move forward!?
