I didn't know the movie would come out! I so so so want to see it!!
Just need to find out how!

A United Kingdom

We rented a few movies the other week and we could keep them for 2 weeks. So now you know how I spend my weekends :)
Anyway one of the movies we rented was this one, a United Kingdom. I had read about it and wanted to see it in the movies but lack of time I sadly missed it.
I can recommend this movie, this really shows a part that I only knew little of. To think this happened not too long ago makes it scary to think of.
I really recommend to watch this movie, it's very touching and you learn more about a part of the African history.

Plot
The film is based on the true story of the heir to the throne of Bechuanaland, Seretse Khama of the Bamangwato tribe, who studies law in London immediately after World War II. There he meets a White woman, Ruth Williams, whom he eventually marries, despite the protests of both their families and opposition from the British government, which is concerned about relations with South Africa and the stability of the entire region of Southern Africa.

Seretse discovers that the British have allowed a US mining corporation to prospect for precious stones, and is eager to make sure that, if anything is found, the exploitation of the country's resources should solely be done by the people of Bechuanaland...

La Famille Bélier

I bought the dvd almost a year ago, not kidding.
And I was supposed to see it while being on sick leave from my surgery last year. However for some reason that never happened!
I ended up seeing it a few days ago, better late than never I guess ^^
I enjoyed this movie. It is a few French movies that I like.
Or at least that has been released with Swedish/Eng sub!!
It's like a lot of Asian movies maybe, only the weird ones hit the big screen.
Anyway i liked this a lot. I really recommend this movie.
Also Louane is such a great singer!! :) The reason how I discovered this movie and her was because her songs was played in a store and through an app I discovered her. By "recording" the sound the app tells which song it is!! So awesome, a great discover!

Story
In the Bélier family, sixteen-year-old Paula is an indispensable interpreter for her deaf parents and brother on a daily basis, especially in the running of the family farm. One day, a music teacher discovers her gift for singing and encourages Paula to participate in a prestigious singing contest in Paris, which will secure her a good career and a college degree. However, this decision would mean leaving her family and taking her first steps towards adulthood.

Lion

On NYE day my darling and I went to see this movie starring Dev Patel called Lion.

The movie is about a five-year-old Indian boy gets lost and ends up on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometers from home. He survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia. 25 years later he sets out to find his lost family.

It is based on a true story and an amazing story. I really enjoyed this movie.
Everyone at the cinema was crying their eyes out while watching. It was very well made.
I can recommend this movie!!

How To Be Single

The other day we saw this, I had wanted to see this for quite some time.
And yes, it looks more like a chick flick. But my darling also enjoyed it.
I can say, if you haven't watched it, do it ^^

Finding Dory

This was shown on the flight, I was so excited to see it!
What did you think of it?
It made me reminded of when I first saw Finding Nemo

부산행

I had wanted to see this movie since beginning of summer when it was annouced. Not that I'm a fan of zombies but it looked like a fun movie to watch. It grew stronger as it got more interest in media and it became the highest sold movie.
Although it is supposed to be scary I found some scenes hilarious. But some things really annoyed me too, as they became so Korean, I wondered, I hope they can see that they do have a problem in the society. And not only look at it as "this is just a movie". Some scenes really showed how Korean the movie is. Not that it's bad but more, this needs to change!
I think the movie was well made and it was interesting to see it until the  end! Worth watching for sure.

Story

The Secret Life of Pets

My darling and I went to see this last Friday.
It was so much fun!
We laughed so much when watching this. And no it's not a kids movie, it's a grown up movie!
Go and see it!!!

Movie in Style

It was not like I needed the glass but it was our first time to visit the VIP section at Rigoletto.

I have never had a glas of wine at the movies before, and not sure how often we'll visit this section so.

I got mixed feelings, I have no idea why the tables were placed wrong on our line, but well.. I became a couple with someone else..hahaha

It kinda ruined the moment.

Movie was great but well.. not sure if I will pay that much again to see a movie.

Sorry but SF needs to get a bigger screen and better sound! It's so small and volume is low. If they have the VIP and all they need to shape up the WHOLE experience!

Seoul Searching

I came across this by chance, it looks like fun!

I think many adoptees or overseas Koreans can relate to this.

I hope can find find the full version! I think the movie will be interesting to watch!

Crystal Kay and Cha In Pyo is in it too, one more reason why I have to see it ^^

I miss the movies so much

Ok, so I posted that we are going to see Jason Bourne next week.
I so wish we'd be able to see it like this, the KOREAN style.
We booked the VIP section but the VIP here is nothing compare to Korea. Still good for Sweden I suppose.
In case why and how I compare it, well..take a look at this.
And the video is not really true, because when we went to the sofa VIP section in Korea we payed way more than for regular seats, still worth every penny!!

Next time I'm so up for the Tempur bed one!! ^^

I'm so excited, it's a week left until the premiere!

Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu?

I saw this movie the other week, it was hilarious! Some might say this or that. But I think many can relate to it in some points!
It has been quite some time I saw a french movie I actually ENJOYED ^^
I recommend this if you want laughter!

Sweet box premium movie style!

One morning we decided to hit the morning showing.

I had searched and found a Premium view, it looked very nice, pricey but whatever.

We met up in Gangnam Gu office and took a taxi as the rain was pouring down.

The place we went to was CGV Cheongdam.

At the bottom (entrance) there were 2 cafes, Twosome Place and Tous Le Jours and BiBi Go.

We took the lift up to 8th floor and bought our tickets then down again to 6th floor.

This premium styled seats cost 25 000won/person. We had a huge sofa, pillows, blankets, foot rest and we also got free water and cookies. AND slippers, it was like being at home and even better.

We bought coffee downstairs at Twosome and popcorn at the CGV snacks shop.

We also went to a similar at Lotte Cinema in Nowon but this was way better!!!

We'd really go back here next time in Seoul!

The Intern

I have wanted to see this for quite some time. In the end I watched it on DVD.

From looking at the trailer it's kinda easy to understand that this is a feel good movie and easy to watch.Yet it has a nice message and great actors. I enjoyed it a lot, so did the others I watched it with as well. It's doesn't need a lot of explanation, just sit back, relax and enjoy!

Woman in Gold

We rented movies the other day, I got to chose one of them and I chose this one - Woman in Gold.
I have wanted to see this one for quite some time, even tried to get my darling to see it at the movies. But no luck! 
Anyway, we both found the story interesting, and even my darling liked it although he first thought it was going to be a chick flick.
I guess they might have changed some bits of the story, but it made me think of both today's situation with all the refugees coming to Sweden. And also back to history and WWII. I think it's hard to imagine what they had to go through. The world should never forget!!

Plot
In a series of flashbacks throughout the film, Maria Altmann recalls the arrival of Nazi forces in Vienna, and the subsequent suppression of the Jewish community and the looting and pillaging conducted by the Nazis against Jewish families. Seeking to escape before the country is completely shut off, Maria Altmann and members of her family attempt to flee to the United States. While Altmann and her husband are successful in their escape, she is forced to abandon her parents in Vienna.

In the present, living in Los Angeles, a now elderly and widowed Altmann attends the funeral for her sister. She discovers letters in her sister's possession dating to the late 1940s, which reveal an attempt to recover artwork owned by the Altmann family that was left behind during the family's flight for freedom and subsequently stolen by the Nazis. Of particular note is a painting of Altmann's aunt, Adele Bloch-Bauer, now known in Austria as the "Woman in Gold".

Altmann enlists the help of Randol Schoenberg, the grandson of her close friends, but a lawyer with little experience, to make a claim to the art restitution board in Austria. Reluctantly returning to her homeland, Altmann discovers that the country's minister and art director are unwilling to part with the painting, which they feel has become part of the national identity. Altmann is told that the painting was in fact legitimately willed to the gallery by her aunt. Upon further investigation by her lawyer and Austrian journalist Hubertus Czernin, this claim proves to be incorrect, as the alleged will is invalid due to the fact that her aunt did not own the painting in question, the artist's fee having been paid by her uncle. Schoenberg files a challenge with the art restitution board, but it is denied and Altmann does not have the money needed to challenge the ruling. Defeated, she and Schoenberg return to the United States...

I saw the trailer in Japan last year and found it interesting. I finally got the time to see it.
I enjoyed it very much, especially as it's built on a real story.
It really shows how important teachers are! They are the ones who can make students reach higher!
The movie is not complicated therefore it was great to watch when being tired after work.
I also like the song right before the end, it took me some time before I realized it was in English..haha!

Plot
Sayaka Kudo is a gyaru who wears miniskirts and dyes her hair blonde. Although she is a 2nd year senior high school student, she is on par academically with 4th grade elementary school students. She frequently transfers between schools because she is unable to make friends, and was once suspended for being caught with cigarettes. Eventually she attends a private all-girls high school where she plays and enjoys her extra-scholarly activities to the nth degree while skipping study altogether.

To prepare her for her university entrance examination, her mother decides to send her to Seiho Cram School. However, when the school director, Yoshitaka Tsubota, hears about Sayaka's academic problem, he makes it his personal goal to help her enter the university of her choice, Keio University, a prestigious university that is considered one of the most difficult to enter in Japan and to get back at her father.

After her father, whose main goal is to get her brother Ryuta into pro baseball, labels her an "air-head" and says she and her mother are being scammed by the cram school only for money, Sayaka becomes determined to study hard to prove her father wrong. Over the course of the summer holidays of her second year through to the exams at the end of her third year in senior high school, Sayaka studies extremely hard and goes without sleep to the extent that she nods off in her high school classes. She even dyes her hair back to black and cuts it to show her resolve. Her results progressively improve on practice tests and her academic deviation value increases tremendously from 30 to 70 in this short span of time.

Beck - Gunvald

It's finally here, the last movie starring Mikael Persbrandt as Gunvald Larsson.

I was kinda sad when I first heard the news. 

I have to say I'm disappointed, both that Mikael is leaving, his character means so much to the movie.

And also to the movie in itself.

I don't want to spoil... but well kinda, so if you haven't watched it, stop reading!

WHAT kind of ending to Gunvald's character was that?

It felt like a joke, how could they end it like that...!!

He deserved so much more and so fast, I was seriously pissed off and the rest of the movie wasn't a lot to hang in the tree as we say in Swedish!

I surely hope the new ones will have another kind of style to them, because they have big shoes to fill!!!

Not that I really care, as I'm not a big fan. But I usually like the theme tracks.
This time, keeping it British and all.. it's Sam Smith! ^^
I like this song and fun to hear something new from him!
