La Famille Bélier

I bought the dvd almost a year ago, not kidding.
And I was supposed to see it while being on sick leave from my surgery last year. However for some reason that never happened!
I ended up seeing it a few days ago, better late than never I guess ^^
I enjoyed this movie. It is a few French movies that I like.
Or at least that has been released with Swedish/Eng sub!!
It's like a lot of Asian movies maybe, only the weird ones hit the big screen.
Anyway i liked this a lot. I really recommend this movie.
Also Louane is such a great singer!! :) The reason how I discovered this movie and her was because her songs was played in a store and through an app I discovered her. By "recording" the sound the app tells which song it is!! So awesome, a great discover!

Story
In the Bélier family, sixteen-year-old Paula is an indispensable interpreter for her deaf parents and brother on a daily basis, especially in the running of the family farm. One day, a music teacher discovers her gift for singing and encourages Paula to participate in a prestigious singing contest in Paris, which will secure her a good career and a college degree. However, this decision would mean leaving her family and taking her first steps towards adulthood.

Cast
Karin Viard as Gigi Bélier
François Damiens as Rodolphe Bélier
Éric Elmosnino as M. Thomasson
Louane Emera as Paula Bélier
Roxane Duran as Mathilde
Ilian Bergala as Gabriel
Luca Gelberg as Quentin Bélier

On NYE day my darling and I went to see this movie starring Dev Patel called Lion.

The movie is about a five-year-old Indian boy gets lost and ends up on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometers from home. He survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia. 25 years later he sets out to find his lost family.

It is based on a true story and an amazing story. I really enjoyed this movie.
Everyone at the cinema was crying their eyes out while watching. It was very well made.
I can recommend this movie!!

The Verneuils pretend to accept their sons-in-laws but have had a hard time hiding their comfortability in accepting people into the family from outside the community. Beck - Gunvald

★★

It's finally here, the last movie starring Mikael Persbrandt as Gunvald Larsson.
I was kinda sad when I first heard the news.
I have to say I'm disappointed, both that Mikael is leaving, his character means so much to the movie.
And also to the movie in itself.
I don't want to spoil... but well kinda, so if you haven't watched it, stop reading!

WHAT kind of ending to Gunvald's character was that?
It felt like a joke, how could they end it like that...!!
He deserved so much more and so fast, I was seriously pissed off and the rest of the movie wasn't a lot to hang in the tree as we say in Swedish!
I surely hope the new ones will have another kind of style to them, because they have big shoes to fill!!!

Magic Mike XXL

I went to see this last night with S.
What can I say, the guys delivered. And some scenes, omg I laughed a lot. I bet they had a lot of fun when making it.
Anyway, I have to say one thing... I have never experienced so many people going in and out during a movie less than 2 hours. I guess it was too much for some? But c'mon it's called XXL and most have probably seen the trailer so what did they expect?
It's a great movie to see to get a laugh or to see some bare good looking men ^^ But not so much story, although for this movie it's not needed. It gave me a great laugh it surely delivers, an upgrade from the last movie!
After it ended and we stood in line for the washroom, S and I overheard some other women, one had seen it twice and was most likely to see it once more!! OK it was entertaining but not that much I'd watch it two, let alone THREE times in the movie theater!!! Another thought the choreography was great, Ok, I'm not a dancer but... it was good but not THAT awesome as she said!!
So for all you single ladies or women who likes some fun and a good laugh, go and see it. But for your couple ladies, do not bring your man!! It's not for him XD

One of them is Annie. I saw the trailer a few weeks ago and found it so cute.

After a disastrous public appearance, Gamberling (with the help of Miss Hannigan) arranges to have Annie claimed by impostors pretending to be her parents. The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

I had seen the trailer several times on YT and FB, it kept popping up on my feeds, it looked hilarious so I search for the first movie and saw it. It was so-so in one way and awesome in another. However the second seemed more fun so I decided I had to see it, although it more looked like a movie for the "older generation". And I was right in a way, most people in the theater, the 8 of us watching it were all 50+. So yes, I took down the average by a lot ^^ I went there with my mum a few days ago, we both enjoyed the movie. I liked the second one much much more than the first. Although the character of "Sonny Kapoor" was freaking annoying in this one, I liked the others... so right now I wish for a third movie XD And, I also want to go to India!!!!

수상한 그녀

This movie was quite popular last year, my friend told me to watch it so I did. I'd say this is a typical Korean family situation with a happy ending of course. I think many who are not used to the Korean culture will think that this movie is weird in many ways, and I'd say it has to do with the language. If you understand Korean it makes more sense. Also I'd say they have made this into a "and they lived happily ever after" movie, which is very cliche. Still entertaining.
I was happily surprised by the main actress Shim Eun-Kyung, She does very well in this movie and I have watched various dramas and movies but I have to say this left the biggest impression ^^

Title: 수상한 그녀 / Miss Granny
Distributed by: CJ Entertainment
Release dates: January 22, 2014
Running time: 124 minutes
Country: South Korea
Language: Korean

Plot
Oh Mal-soon, a 74-year-old widow, lives with her son and his family. She is foul-mouthed, stubborn, controlling and shameless, and has a difficult relationship with her depressed daughter-in-law Ae-ja. She is proud of her son Hyun-chul, a university professor of gerontology, and the fact that she managed to raise him by herself against all odds. One day, Ae-ja gets hospitalized after suddenly collapsing, and doctors strongly advise her to live apart from Mal-soon. On the day she is told by her son that she is being sent to a nursing home, the dismayed Mal-soon wanders the streets and comes across a mysterious photo studio that claims it captures the moments of one's youth. She takes what she believes will be her last self-portrait for her not-so-far-off funeral, but when she comes out of the studio, Mal-soon is dumbfounded by her own reflection in the mirror: a fresh, young 20-year-old woman. At first not knowing what to do, she hides from her family and soon ends up lodging with a café shop worker. With no one recognizing her, Mal-soon decides to make the most out of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: She renames herself Oh Doo-ri after her all-time favorite actress Audrey Hepburn, gets a haircut similar to Hepburn's in Roman Holiday, and takes advantage of her youth. As the "suspicious girl" of the Korean title, all anyone sees is that Doo-ri speaks with a regional accent and walks like an old lady, and that she acts very strangely and motherly for her age. After wowing a group of pensioners with a stirring karaoke tune one day, she attracts the notice of her unknowing teenage grandson Ji-ha, and Han Seung-woo, a TV music producer. Ji-ha invites her to join his heavy metal band, and after she convinces them to switch to more audience-pleasing melodies, the band becomes famous with her as vocalist. Doo-ri is thrilled to be pursuing a career in music ― something she had to give up when she was young. Meanwhile, she gets caught romantically between three men: Mr. Park, an elderly widower friend who has always secretly loved Mal-soon, Ji-ha who is still unaware that she's his grandmother, and Seung-woo, who's doing his best to track her down again.
