I still cannot believe that Arashi is now on the major social medias.
I mean I have been a fan since 2001 and always been chasing to be able to see music videos, tv-series, tv-shows, movies, concerts etc.
Now I can get some of the latest right in my phone at home!
From the re-born, this is my fave version of them all!!!!

  • Britax Smile III
  • Bugaboo Donkey
  • Bugaboo Fox
  • Emmaljunga NXT90
  • Emmaljunga Viking
  • Joolz Day 3
  • Stokke Beat
  • Uppababy Vista
Innan hade jag redan valt bort Britax Go Next, varför undrar ni kanske?

  • Bugaboo Donkey
  • Joolz Day 3
  • Uppababy Vista

Motherhood - what I learnt during pregnancy and first three months

Honestly, this is not how I expected my maternity leave to be but at least we are healthy.
Anyway to the point of this blog, this is what I learnt during pregnancy.

1. Individuality
Although many women are pregnant, each woman is different, no one is another a like.
So don't compare yourself. E.g. size of belly, cravings, weight, exercise etc.

Personally my belly was small, at week 27 majority didn't even notice. Even some people didn't even notice at week 38, then again I think they talked to my face and not my body.

I needed compression socks from week 20 ish.. and I needed to wear them 24/7!
But with those I managed to walk a lot. ok slightly heavy at week 37-39 but until then I walked a lot.
I was in Japan during week 21ish and walked 20-35 000 steps a day!
Until the day before water broke I was out for lunch with a friend and buying things.

2. Don't be afraid to ask

Ask friends, ask nurses, doctors, search! However don't trust it all.. take it with a grain of salt.
But remember individuality, see above! We are all human but not the same.

3. Prepare + secondhand
You don't know when your little will come, so prep!
Buy clothes, stroller, bed, linen, car seat etc.
If you are scared that something could happen, ok don't buy too much, but I can tell you once your little is here.. you won't run to the store!
I bought a lot secondhand / hand down, honestly babies don't use clothes a lot before they change size. You can check quality but if only used for one or two babies before you, don't worry. your baby will grow out of the clothes within a few weeks!
Also don't be afraid to buy baby gym, baby chair, car seat as used. You don't need all new, think about it. A baby isn't cheap.

Also good to have at home - diapers, baby oil, nail clipper, ointments etc.
For yourself as mummy - nursing pads, pads (you will bleed after delivery), comfy clothes, bras.

My hubby was like... You bought more? With COVID booming just a week after we checked out of hospital and the busy life hubby told me he now was happy that I had prepared so much and bought all the various things.

4. Delivery isn't what's most painful!

I had labor pains for 16 h, it took around 1 h to push our little baby out.
To me, the pain wasn't joke but if i compare to the pain I had after delivery for 6,5 weeks! yes you read right six and a half week!
The pain I had to recover was worse, of course I expected some pain after all I gave birth to a human but the pain wasn't a joke! I didn't tear a lot either that's why I didn't expect it.
I could barely move for the first 4 weeks! on 5th I could start!
No one mentioned this to me and I couldn't find too much info that matched what i felt but well.. again women are individual!

5. Boys pee and poo unexpectedly!

At first it was a circus, I don't know how stressful it was to change a diaper because you couldn't know when he would pee or poop again! I have been peed on, I have been pooped on!
After 8 weeks it settled and he doesn't pee or poo like crazy, we can change diaper without stress.

6. Unconditional love

Everyone says..the love you get from your child.
Yes this is soooo true! The love you will get from your little bundle of love cannot be explained it's just pure joy and wonderful!!!

Supporting pillow while pregnant

Do I need a supporting pillow during pregnancy?

Honestly I wasn't sure if I needed one and some were super expensive. So my first thought was no.
But I decided to ask friends to see what they had used, some said just regular pillows and other said they had invested in one.
As I came further into my pregnancy I realized I needed one! I like to sleep on my back so to sleep on the side wasn't comfortable for me. The pillow gave a nice support helping me getting some sleep.

Budget?

If you are on a budget just use whatever pillows you have at home, there is no need to actually buy one, Some pillows are super expensive!
You can also ask friends to see if they have or second hand market.
I promise when you start to ask friends you will find one or two who have had one and might even let you borrow it!

How to decide?

If you are to invest there are many different out there, shape and price point. But think about yourself and your sleeping habits as you decide.

One long pillow
There is a long one which you put on the side you desire. However if you tend to move when you sleep (like me) this might work in the mid months but as I came closer to month 8 and 9 this didn't work for me as it made me waking up having to move my blanket and pillow, it felt like a lot of work especially moving between sides so I bet I lost 1-2h sleep as it took me time to also fall asleep again.
I think I also woke up my hubby a few times.

Two-side pillow (like a neck pillow but body size)
You have the double sided one, imagine a "neck pillow" but in a larger scale. You sleep in between and can twist and turn as you like.
Downside..it does take some space in bed but you don't need to move the pillow between the different sides. As it is two sided it provides support both for your back and your stomach.

Arashi 5x20 - Venue Entry (Do not by re-sold tickets)

As said the rules this year is stricter than ever!
We all know how difficult it is for international fans, but please if you are not a member of the FC yourself, do not buy tickets on the black market this time around.
This post is to save your wallet and you!

For any FC member who hit this time around (all should know by now..).
You will get a QR code just a few days before the concert You will be told where to go at the venue.
When you go to the concert you need to bring

  1. ID (Passport/Japanese ID card)
  2. FC membership card
  3. QR Code

The name you registered your FC membership with must match with QR and ID. And yes they screen every single person who enters the venue!

Multiple fans have said they have seen people being turned away because something didn't match.
E.g. Man's name on the membership yet a woman in line.
A person had 2 tickets and suddenly the friend she was to go with couldn't come so she brought another friend, the friend couldn't enter!

It's hard but I think most Arashi fans are well aware of the re-selling prices! This is JE's way trying to stop it.

Resa Runt i Japan?

Monday, Sep 7, Departure 12.00 PM, From Shin-Osaka To Tokyo
(WEEKDAY, DATE, Time (Depart or arrive), Destination (From - To)).

This song went straight into my heart..
It's so beautiful and makes you cry! Ayaka really knows how to write a song with feelings! And as always it's a bit tricky to translate because how she wants to convey that feeling is not so easy, it's not just to look at the word itself.
Anyway I tried my best! Here it is... Eng at the bottom..

LYRICS

NeogenxJoan Kim Vita Duo Cream - REVIEW

I have seen people complaining already about it and saying they feel Joan scammed them. But to be fair, isn't it the same with all "companies"? You promote your brand and product for people to buy it right? Not to defend Joan at all but just saying, as a consumer we have our own responsibility as well.Personally when someone says it's SOOOOO GOOD and perfect for all, I get SUPER SUSPICIOUS and I always take a second look because I don't trust people/companies! I mean at the end of the day they want to SELL!
I read and I hoped it would work on me despite the lavender oil etc. but knew I could get into trouble. Yet I was willing to spend the money although the cream isn't cheap!
Looking back at Joan's own review on YT and after using the cream I'm keen to know how many are in the Neogen office and how the various skintypes/age/gender etc was representative before this was approved to "fit all skin types".

The creams - Day cream is super thick yet easy to apply and Night cream - it's like a gel and light. I hate the lid, to me a little product escape each time when I close and i always had to clean it to avoid bacteria/dirt!!!
A little goes a long way so that's of good value for your money! It sets quickly to your skin.
I have super dry and somewhat sensitive but seems to be very selective for what drives the sensitivity. As a first impression I was super happy like WOW and no immediate irritation or anything. However 2 weeks in using it day and night I'm not so pleased.

1. Being as dry as I am, I urge to use my face mist throughout the day, usually it's enough like 2-4 times a day, now i want it every 30 min! If I tap on the skin before I mist it feels ok yet not the way other creams have done and therefore I urge to use my face mist way more than with other creams.
2. I get red around my cheeks!!!
3. When I put on make up, my foundation is caking!! Never happened with other creams!
4. it itches around some areas of my face.

I looked at Sokoglam's website to see what's out there for English speakers to support you in the choice (I bought mine using a Korean website and info in Korean). Sokoglam's website says "The nourishing Joan Day Vita Cream gives skin a morning boost with ingredients like energizing green tea and brightening vitamin C. The fast-absorbing formula also serves as a smooth canvas for makeup.
The Joan Night Vita Cream features a juicy gel formula that repairs, soothes, and strengthens skin while you sleep thanks to ingredients like lavender oil and vitamin E.
Using this perfect pair also ensures round-the-clock hydration.
Both formulas are free of parabens, artificial fragrance, animal ingredients, and mineral oil."

I think it gives you an idea right and also have full ingredient list! Awesome!!
But looking at the statement "smooth canvas for make up" - not for my skin! I have tried them separately and mixed. It's good they mention the Lavender oil!
It feels like a waste of money unfortunately (my own fault for want to try it out) as I have 90% of the jar left! I will see if my husband can use it, however he has even dryer skin than me...
I won't re-purchase it and I cannot recommend it to people with dry skin or sensitive skin.

I hope they can re-formulate it and remove oils and other ingredients which can irritate the skin. Possibly also only recommend it for certain skin types and not all!

Travel Essentials

Skincare is heavy and not always easy to bring a long when travelling especially shorter trips.
I usually buy travel sized friendly items in Korea and Japan because they always have them. And I also have empty containers so I can fill them up with my fave products.
In Korea and Japan they also sell a lot of the products in smaller travel sizes, even at convenient stores sometimes. Some items that are my essentials are these:

Solo

YGs new fave lady - Blackpink's Jennie.
I like Blackpink but more and more I see kinda fiece input to what made me love 2NE1.
I'm not saying their are the same but I see what YG is putting his efforts and how!

Back to Jennie's solo, it's ok... It's not as fierce and mind blowing. It's just another song.
I saw, I listened and I turned on the next tune...

What do you think?

Thai red curry

Cravings occur from time to time in my life..
The other week I craved Thai red curry, one of the few Thai foods I can actually eat.
Luckily it could be easily solved and it was quick to make. Anyone can disagree on what I put into my curry but it was things I like ^^
Chicken, bell pepper, cauliflower, onion, water chestnut, peas

Protect your skin

Sun products are important for many things and comes in different forms.
Important is that it absorbs or reflects the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation and helps to protect against sunburn. Diligent use of sunscreen can also slow or temporarily prevent the development of wrinkles, moles and sagging skin.
Also, sunscreens can be classified into physical sunscreens (i.e. reflects sunlight) or chemical sunscreens (i.e., absorb the UV light).

To use sunscreen is a very important step in many Asian's skincare routine.
Compare to us in the West who loves a great tan, most Asians fear it!
To sum it up
West - Tan = Holidays
East - Tan = work on the field / wrinkles and sagging skin!

Please take it with a pinch of salt, not all are like this is West vs East. But I have more Western friends who wants to go to get a tan compare to my Eastern, meaning Asian friends.

In Sweden where I live, I have to say it's not easy to find many sunscreens for the face, there are of course a few options but not same range as in Asia.
I have tried a few here in Sweden and some actually gave me rashes! I found one decent from the Pharmacy - Apoteket.

I have to admit, I'm not using sunscreen every day, I should but I don't...
I do on sunny or somewhat sunny days but not on gloomy and rainy onces, which I should because there are bad UV coming. But I also have to say, in Sweden the UV is not as strong as in other countries. Enough with the excuses.
I know I need to become better!!!

So which one should you use?
Well... I guess it depends on you. To know a sunscreen is not the same and no I'm not only talking about SPF and PA's I'm also talking on the function - water resistant, white cast, feeling against skin, if you use make up, acne prone, hydration.. etc.
There are many many factors!! Is it a Surprise?
Also look at where it's from, e.g. EU and Korea has stronger laws for approval than the US.
And a sun screen that works wonders for you might not work on your bestie or family member!

Here are a few in my stock of different ones!
