アンダーウェア / Atelier

Japanese web television drama developed by Fuji Television for Netflix. I found it while browsing around, I got hooked! I love that Netflix has more shows and movies that are Asian. I hope more people will see them and get the feeling that Asian dramas are awesome! I love how Kiritani Mirei is called "ugly" and unfashionable considering she is a model and always wear nice clothes..haha
The drama shows a lot of aspects of life and reminds you of a lot of thing you might go through, both men and women!
I highly recommend this drama if you have Netflix!

君に贈る歌 ~Song For You

I first heard about this singer because she did the title track for the Fuji TV drama Dear Sister.
Now I found this song, a perfect song for graduation.
The other day some friends of mine graduated from university in Japan, and I thought of them as I listened to this song. I bet they had a great day!! Soon they will also enter the life of a OL ^^

Enjoy!

上流階級〜富久丸百貨店外商部〜

I saw this SP the other day, I have to say, Japan and Korea or just Asia in general can sure make different kinds of dramas. Although I felt like it was a modern Selfridges it still had it's own charm. And it was very Japanese ^^
I saw it mainly because of the main actors, Takeuchi Yuko and Saito Takumi, it was a fun combination. I liked Yuko-san in short hair ^^ But well.. the drama is typical Japanese and not as interesting as I thought, it was ok to watch but nothing special.
★★

Title: 上流階級〜富久丸百貨店外商部〜 / Jouryuu Kaikyuu ~ Fukumaru Hyakkaten Gaishoubu
Air Date: 16 January 2015, From 9.00 pm
Broadcast network: Fuji Tv

Synopsis:
At the venerable Fukumaru Department Store in Kobe, Samejima Shizuo (Takeuchi Yuko), who worked her way up from a part-timer, has been through a lot and built a career at the western confectionery department. She became a full-fledged employee following the success of a renewal plan of the store, which she handled besides western confectionery. However, she is assigned to the all-male external sales department as the only female in a sudden personnel transfer and also because it is the intention of the managing director, Benikura Eiichi (Katsura Bunshi). In truth, various members are being assembled so that the store can link up with the customers of the well-connected, charismatic Hatori Shiro (Kusakari Masao), in preparation for his retirement. Shizuo’s husband, Kanno Hisaomi (Tanaka Tetsushi), who works for the same department store group and currently lives in Tokyo, understands her role. Shizuo has been successful in her work all this while. Although she is disconcerted and out of her element in the world of external sales, she goes to customer places with the aim of completing deals. An external sales staff takes care of customers every need – from jewellery, cosmetics, wedding favours to home improvements. It is a completely different world from the customers Shizuo has played host to so far. Furthermore, these “upper class” people who appear snobbish on the surface, have families, setbacks, sorrow, glamour and dreams too. Shizuo pushes ahead with the network of contacts that she had cultivated at the western confectionery department and store development section as well as her own self-motivation. There are two persons who give her a hard time at every turn. Ochi Takashi (Takenaka Naoto), her superior and the section head of the department, and Masuya Shuhei (Saito Takumi), her slightly “flawed” junior and rival. Masuya, who comes from a wealthy Nara family, joined the department store after graduating from a famous private university. He is, in a sense, an elite. Even after his transfer to the external sales department, he fully uses his family connections and meets his quota without effort. Shizuo ends up finding out his secret on the way back from a friend’s wedding ceremony. She struggles with her quota and demanding customer requests every day. There are all sorts of customers like the graceful, gentle wife of a distinguished man from an old samurai family, Kurahashi Kazuko (Asano Yuko); the nagging wife of a hospital director, Tsuru Akiko (Takahata Atsuko); a trouble making customer, Shimada Goro (Watanabe Ikkei); and a Thai businessman. In the midst of this, Shizuo secures Mitani Juri (Matsuyuki Yasuko), who has moved from Tokyo, as a new customer. However, she causes some trouble for Juri. While Shizuo is in despair, she hears news of the sudden death of her Thai businessman customer. He has left word of an outrageous wish for his funeral arrangements...

As I'm here in Japan, I better share some Japanese music (like I never do it..lol)
Here's Mr Children's latest song called 足音 〜 Be Strong.
The single will be avaliable for purchase this upcoming week, but the PV came out last month already. The song is used for Fuji TV's drama called 信長協奏曲 (Nobunaga Concerto) starring Oguri Shun.

シェネル - Happiness

I first heard this song through the Fuji TV drama Dear Sister.
I did not recognize the singer so I searched and I was surprised. Her name is Che'Nelle, and she's Malay-Australian but sings in Japanese!
This song is really sweet and I cannot wait until it's released.
For now here's a short version! Enjoy!!

昼顔 ~平日午後3時の恋人たち~

The summer season is continuing and I haven't had a Japanese drama until now, I have two even... Hero and this one! I'd say it's mainly because of two actors - Ueto Aya and Saito Takumi.
I saw the first episode a few days ago, and well... already now it's twisted. I wonder how the drama will be... good or not? Oh well... I'm excited! To be honest, I think this is quite common in Japan, and all over the world, believe it or not!!

Even though they seemed like a nice happy family, Rikako is actually having affairs in the afternoon, while her husband is at work and her kids are at school.
One day, Rikako is with one of her numerous lovers, a young man by the name of Hagiwara Tomoya, but while in the supermarket's carpark, a high school student, Kentaro, tries to rob them. The police shows up and Rikako needs to cover up the fact that she was having an illicit rendezvous with Tomoya. Spying Sawa leaving the supermarket for home, Rikako quickly pulls Sawa to her side and claims that she was actually at the supermarket with Tomoya to meet up with Sawa, as the three of them had pre-arranged to have coffee together. Sensing Rikako's desperation, Sawa decided to fall in with the act, and backs up Rikako's story. Kuryu Kohei's returning!!

I found out something amazing yesterday, in the drama world ^^
KimuTaku's HERO, from 2001, is doing a comeback! It's the first time in 7 years Kimutaku will play this role!
However this time it will be without Matsu Takako. Instead we'll see Kitagawa Keiko! It's their first time to act together since Tsuki no Koibito from 2010.
Some old cast members like Kohinata Fumiyo, Yashima Norito, Kadono Takuzo, and Tanaka Yoji, will also return to this new season! Other new cast members are Sugimoto Tetta, Hamada Gaku, Yoshida Yo, and Matsushige Yutaka.

For all of u who have missed out on this drama... well... "HERO" is about an, well, unconventional prosecutor named "Kuryu Kohei" of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office, Jousai branch. The drama was also adapted into a movie in 2007.

The new season of "HERO" will begin airing sometime in July on Fuji TV (Monday's 9:00 pm).

Number one (review)

It's finally here, Ayaka's new single. I have to be honest about one thing, track 3 - Hajimari no toki from her live 2013, you can barely notice it's live because her voice is so strong. This is just what I love about her music and voice.
It's rare to find someone who's better live than on cd!! ^^
I love the new track Fuji Tv's title track for the ongoing Olympics in Sochi - "number one", it has a great feeling just like most songs by Ayaka!
Through the ages too is very nice to listen to, I like the arrangement for this song!

Happy Happy Happy is all I can express!! Welcome back and hope to hear more!!

I'm a hopeless case when it comes to Japanese soundtracks ^^
Or maybe it's not the composers fault they create such great sounds!
A few weeks left but soon this soundtrack will be in my hands.

ミスパイロット OST

One of my fave tv-dramas last year was Miss Pilot.
And I finally got my hands on the soundtrack ^^ I so want to re-watch the drama when I listen to this one.
But sadly I don't have the time!
I wonder what it's with Japanese soundtracks, I'd say I love 90% off all that are released. I compare them with Korean ones where I find only a song or two. And normally it's not instrumental songs, its sung by some artist. I guess that's where they really stand out from each other.
This is a 99% instrumental cd, like most Japanese soundtracks, and I guess that's why I'm drawn to them.
I also think I love this soundtrack so much because I loved the tv-series in itself ^^

ミス・パイロット

This season Fuji TV has some good dramas, I mentioned Dokushin Kizoku yesterday. So here is the other one ^^
This drama is starring Horikita Maki and Aibu Saki. And once again air company ANA makes a huge profit. But, whenever ANA is involved it's usually a good drama. ^^
Also, I'm so keen to see Saito Takumi. The more I see of him, the more I like him ^^

The plot is interesting, because I know how difficult it is to become a pilot and a very good one.
I'm eager to see how this will end!! On Tuesday evenings, I'm all for this!

独身貴族

I'm a little bit behind, been busy the past weeks.
However I anticipated this drama, and guess why? The story and actors of course ^^
I'm also surprised to see Ito Hideaki in his short hair, I'm so used to his longer hairstyle, it almost feels like another person. He look more manly now...haha
As for Kusanagi Tsuyoshi, I can so picture him to get married and be a great father.. so to see him like this, like a misfit is funny ^^
As for Kitagawa Keiko, well, she'll just be herself I think! From all the interviews I have seen with her I have gotten the vibe she's not so girly girly, so therefore this will be even more interesting ^^

Title: 独身貴族 (Dokushin Kizoku)
Episodes: TBA
Broadcast network: Fuji TV
Broadcast period: 2013-Oct-10 - 2013-Dec-??
Air time: Thursday 22:00

Story
At present, over 47% of the male population in Japan aged between 30 ~ 34 are single. While for women, the no. goes up to 60% for those in their late twenties. It is not that they are unable to get married. Rather, they all choose to remain single, as they believe that marriage is not the be all and end all. Life holds more promising things beyond marriage, and thus they are all celebrating life as a single. This drama takes a look at life from the perspectives of these men and women.
Hoshino Mamoru is the President of a film production company, having taken over the position from his father. He is an excellent creative director, but he detests chaos and hence prefers to remain single. His brother, Susumu, works at the same company, taking care of the business side of things. Currently undergoing divorce proceedings, Susumu has had to move out of his marital home.
Haruno Yuki is disillusioned with men, after having gone through several failed relationships. She wasn't making great strides in her career either, and so one day, she decided to quit her job and pursue her dream of becoming a scriptwriter. In order to pay the bills, she takes on a part-time job at a maid agency. Before she knows it, she gets her chance to make her dream come true!
It could be Fate, or just plain coincidence, but the 3 of them are plunged into each other's lives; The "Affluent Single", the "Divorced Hero" and the "Marriage Refugee". Will a pivotal moment happen upon them? Will the "Affluent Single" decide to give wedded bliss a chance?
