And the winner is..

So the winner of ESC 2013 is Denmark and Emmelie de Forest.
They already talked about her weeks ago, that she'd win it all, and so she did!
I'm not surprised.
I was holding on Greece, the song "Alcohol is free" just made me die of laughter and they had a fun performance with Greek elements - dance and instruments ;)

The ESC show in general was so-so.
I zapped between channels, but I guess that's because I'm not a huge fan of the show and I had already seen the performers I liked.

The Swedish host Petra did a good job being alone and all, but her English, not bad but seriously could she have had STOPPED reading her memo-cards?! Her English sounded like someone reading lines directly from a script, which she did, and that was what made it boring. Her French was much better though, so extra points for that. And what did Eric Saade do there? His English was totally fine but what he said was just rubbish, he was too nervous! After his second line I put on mute, he made everything look and sound weird.

And... I have a question regarding what's political and not!? They have stated that political messages should not be presented or shown in the ESC, however this year's topic became all about homosexuality. Sweden is open to homosexuality, but other participating countries in ESC are not.
So when the Finish girls ended with a kiss earlier this week some countries threw a fit about it. And others told them to grow up! XD Which they talked about yesterday... Then, during show about SWEDEN, the one while all countries voted, had two men kissing each other. All things in the show was kinda true, Sweden in a nutshell, but afterwards it got me thinking... shouldn't that, too, be counted as political?
The man behind this show, the Swedish boss of ESC is openly gay, so to be in a way, it wasn't a surprise when the kiss occurred in that segment.
But in all.. Gay or Straight, Christian or Muslim, Black or White, Young and Old... What's politically right or wrong? It feels weird to say that some is okay and other isn't. Especially since the "gay topic" is a mixed topic around the world.
Well well...not to be too focused about it, it's just a show....

Anway see you next year, 20 min away, in Denmark.
Not sure if they will hold the show in CPH, but it's most likely!
