There's always a way!!

These days there are lots of talks of unemployment in Sweden, which is true.
And also it's difficult for immigrants to get work, which is also true.
And this question will be a big one in the upcoming election this autumn.

BUT

There's a story I want to tell...

The other day when I flew back home from Athens, I met this young man at the airport.
He started to talk to my mum and then I joined in.
We talked a bit, then he told us that he had escaped the war in Syria and left his family behind.
He was about my age and he said he was in Greece because his younger brother, age 16, was there.
They had escaped through Turkey, however, now, they were in different places. Also many family members of his were still in Syria. He looked a bit beaten up, you could still see scars from various wounds.

But the beauty of this story was that, despite the tragic, he had managed to go through a Swedish Language course for foreigners, found an employment as a construction worker and he had an apartment!! And he was happy!!
To me this is amazing that a young guy, with nothing has managed to come to another country where he do not understand the language, being alone... Yet, he has managed to get his life back.
And even though his today is not what it used to be, he was happy to be where he is, in this case in Sweden! He loved it here and he wanted his family to join him here if possible!!
Now after he returned to Sweden he said he'd go to the immigration office and see if they could help him to get his brother a visa in Sweden.

I asked him if it was difficult for him here, he said of course it is, but added, you cannot just sit and wait and hope the society will do things for you. You got to do something yourself! That's how you get on with your life!
He was also grateful to Sweden, to his employer and colleagues!!

I really hope he'll be united with his family soon.

So YES, there's always a way, if you really want to!!
You shouldn't need to beg for money, you shouldn't expect the society to just give/provide you what you need.
If there's a will, there's a way!
(But the way might be longer for some, but with support from family/friends it will get you far)
Just take this guy as I mentioned as an example of how it could be!

I hope we'll be able to hear more happy stories from tragedies rather than sad ones!
These days I think we need these kinds of happy stories!!
